How to Use Call Forwarding to Simplify Your Trading Day

Smiling Shopper Gets Market Update on Smart Phone

For many traders, a mobile device is an essential business tool. Traders carry their mobile phones everywhere to stay in touch with the market.

But depending on the situation, sometimes problems arise with getting trading information on your mobile trading device.

In those situations, call forwarding can be an elegant solution to the problem. You can leave your business device at home, at the office, or in your car, but still have access to the calls.

Benefits of Call Forwarding

  • Traders sometimes maintain multiple phone numbers. Carrying multiple phones in addition to your trading laptop can be cumbersome. Call forwarding can allow you to consolidate multiple mobile devices into a single one.
  • If you want, you can forward your mobile phone calls to your trading computer’s VoIP number. That way, while you’re working on your computer, you don’t have to constantly keep checking your phone.
  • If you are experiencing reception problems with your mobile carrier, you can use call forwarding to avoid missing out on calls.

Both iPhones and Android devices have call forwarding features. It’s easy to set up. Let’s see how.

Setting Up iPhone Call Forwarding

On your iPhone, you can set up call forwarding with the following steps:

  • Go to Settings > Phone.
  • Select Call Forwarding.
  • Turn on Call Forwarding.
  • Select Forward To.
  • Enter the destination phone number for call forwarding.

Call Forwarding Through Carriers

  • Restart your device and check the Call Forwarding setups again to make sure the configurations are ok.
